>> The Hermitage
Hermitage is one of the nation's main museums. Founded in 1764 and consisting of Three Buildings. They are the Winter Palace, itself built in 1750 by Empress Elizabeth, the Small Hermitage built in 1760 by Catherine the Great, and the Large Hermitage, built in stages for ninety years starting in 1770. The Art Collection was started by Catherine the Great and is one of the richest art collections in the world.
