First of all Alex was great to work with. From May of 2017 when I first proposed this idea to the day before we left in March 2018, Alex was on top of all of the plans and helped guide me through it all. He is very easy to work with and very knowledgeable about putting together an interesting tour package at a very affordable price. The tours were wonderful, covering a lot to see in such a short time, yet were not overwhelming for a group dealing with a new culture and jet lag. The tour guides in Russia were awesome; very knowledgeable about their respective cities and the tours they provided as well as extremely helpful when asked for suggestions about our days off in each city. They also knew the best places to find souvenirs and such. The train trip between Moscow and Saint Petersburg was divine - the best train trip I have ever had in Russia. I can't wait to try it again! The accommodations were great. Both hotels were near metro stops, making transportation a breeze for getting around. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff in each hotel was friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffets were good, with something for everyone to try and to get their day off to a good start. This is my second time booking a trip through East/West tours, and I will gladly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Russia.
