Dear Bobby, as you may recall, Matthew wanted to arrange our recent tour of Russia as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration. Since he did it for me, I wanted to email you with my impressions. From the greeting at the Moscow Airport by our tour guide, Marina, to the last good-bye from Elena at the St. Petersburg airport, all went extremely well. Our only hiccup was not knowing who was taking us to Suzdal but that was easily resolved. Every entry to museums, palaces and venues was eased by the knowledgeable guides. Our extra tour to Kizhi Island was amazing and the guest house was perfect as our room overlooked the lake. Food in any of the restaurants or personal homes was plentiful and delicious. Hotels were indeed 5 star.

We had a great Trans-Siberia trip. The scenery was beautiful, the Imperial Russia train staff was excellent, and the tours were very interesting and informative. Thanks for all of Nordic Sagas’s help in arranging this trip. We thoroughly enjoyed it! – Nick Stooke -

It was a unique chance to see many different parts of Russia in one trip. It was very well arranged and we enjoyed it completely. To chose this cruise was a very wise decision. We saw the bests of Moscow and also got a feeling for Russian village life. The boat was comfortable and very clean. We used the balcony a lot and really enjoyed the weather and the beauty of the waterways. Overall it was a fantastic experience to be remembers for the years to come. We started looking for a cruise a year before and selected Moscow – Astrakhan M/S "Nikolay Chernishevsky" because it looked so extraordinary and East West Tours were very professional in giving us all possible details about this cruise. They are real experts. The ship was very nice and comfortable , the crew was attentive and we really felt cared for. We particularly enjoyed the lessons that we had on history and the language. Shore excursions were enjoyable and interesting. We especially liked small town/city visits. The tour guides were excellent and very nice people. It's a pity we had too little time to spend in those small shore places to browse the crafts and local items available in many of them.

Dora, thank you very much for arranging this fantastic trip for us. As you know we had a lot of fears and concerns about safety, food and other. I have to admit that all your explanations and comments were true and we had an amazing time on board of this beautiful boat with very helpful and always smiling staff. The food was surprisingly high standard and we had no complaints about the service. A minor drawback was a little too noisy company of holidaymakers requiring extra attention on every possible matter. All in all the tour was very successful, packed with interesting facts about Russian history, nature and even learned a few Russian words.

This tour went to some amazing places. Dora was very reassuring that it would be ok in spite of rising tensions between nations and Russia. St. Petersburg was one of the most amazing cities we have ever been to and it was made even more enjoyable with the fabulous guide we had, Masha. She was so knowledgable about everything we saw but more than that, she went above the call of duty in helping us get to the World Cup. We can't recommend her highly enough. We felt very safe in St. Petersburg – not at all what we were expecting. The ferry staterooms were very, very basic, but food on the ferry was varied and plentiful, also including wine and beer.
