Just back from a group trip to Mongolia and Russia, spending more than a week on the Trans Mongolian/Siberian railway, starting in Moscow, stopping at Lake Baikal, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk and finishing in Ulaan Baatar. What an experience !
It is really hard to explain what we have experienced to anyone who hasn't traveled on this train. The scenery was stunning and it was had to realise just how vast Russia.
Moscow was just great but the highlight was the journey on the train with all the remarkable placed we visited on the way. At Lake Baikal, there was a chance to swim in rather cold water, followed by a warming shot of vodka. In Ulan Ude we were treated to a folk music concert with was amazing.
The trian was very comfortable, food good and nice friendly people around you.
A great adventure. I would definitely recommend this train tour.
