The desert climate here ensures blue skies most days and the streets are impeccably clean. Railing southwest across the desert to mystical Bukhara, was fantastic as wide train windows allowed us to watch the dusty Uzbek landscape. It was simply not real! We enjoyed Bukhara's monuments but the true joy of a visit to Bukhara was in wandering around the city’s labyrinthine old town. Samarkand is another fairy tale.

This was my first trip that I had booked through East West Tours, and on the basis of how much I enjoyed it, I will definitely be booking my next trip through yourselves. We had an amazing time on the journey from Moscow to Vladivostok. First of all, because all travel details were flawlessly arranged by your agency (East West Tours). Russia is a very vast country where you can find modern culture and total authenticity. We enjoyed all of it. A few guides were very experienced and packed us with lots of history, others were young and less knowledgeable but very sincere and friendly. During all our trip we were very lucky with the weather as it rained only when we were in Kazan. A little disappointing.

It was a fabulous trip. We have been trying to do it for several years. The idea came true only when we contacted East West Tours. They answered all our questions, explained all the details and the trip was just what we thought it would be.” The trip from Moscow to Vladivostok was a wonderful and easy way to see Russia – to experience its vastness, to see its people and culture, to have a glimpse of real Russian life. On the train, we met so many interesting people who are now our friends. We learned so much about history and culture, the lectures & video presentations were a little boring, though. The journey by train was a great experience. We were scared that it would be boring but the time went very fast. I thought I’d read tons of books but no chance, snacks, drinks, chats with other travelers and the day was over. Service on the train was often very slow, but we didn't complain about that as we enjoyed the scenery through the window and always had someone to chat with. In Moscow we stayed at a modern functional hotel with friendly staff and good location. City tours were just excellent. In Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, the hotel was comfortable in a historical center with nice views.
