Hi, Just returned from the cruise on Volga river. The boat was great, the sights lovely. It was a very relaxed and slow pace trip. Lots of good food, nice entertainment, patient guides etc. With Nordic Saga recommendation, we booked a Jun. Suite B and had more space than basic cabins and were happy to do so. The boat noise levels were minimal, some of the passengers made more noise. The land trips were enjoyable with good guides ( my special thanks to Tania, who was very helpful and nice smiling whatever the situation). My husband and I decided to see as much as possible of Russia and started looking for some cruise. East West Tour people offered us cruise on M/S Konstantin Fedin which we gladly took as we trust this company from our previous trips organised by them. The trip was rather luxurious. The cabin was not big but functional, with nice a bathroom. The beds were comfortable enough. The staff was young and pleasant and well-trained. We liked the food, especially the Russian type with plenty of vegetables. We made friends with a few lovely couples from Austria and New Zeland. The guides on land were mostly very good with good command of English and what we saw was beautiful and fascinating.

A Russian river cruise was a different and nice way of holiday. We decided to give it a try and were not disappointed. The boat was nice, with the name Rostropovich which pointed to heavy entertainment schedule. Concerts were a daily entertainment with professional musicians as well as music students who were very good indeed. The trip was very well organised with lots of activites like matryoshka painting, pancake and vodka testing , lectures on history and folk art. There was something every day. Overall, the cruise can be given four-star plus rating. Some people were complaining about the lack of their favorite food but with four meals every day – no one went hungry.

  I'm writing to thank for the nicely arranged trip for us this summer. We had some doubts about this trip as we had never been to Russia before and were not sure what to expect. I have to say, that the journey was just fantastic. Everything was great – the sightseeing, the food, the boat, the guides. Especially the guides, who were very friendly, good English and treated us like the family. The boat was nice and there was plenty to do on the boat. We took a couple of Russian lessons – which I would highly recommend anyone traveling in Russia. Some knowledge of their alphabet is a great thing. The cities and points of interested we visited during this trip gave us a glimpse of real Russia. We enjoyed it very much.

Volga Dream Cruise We just came back from a cruise from St. Petersburg to Moscow with the "Volga Dream". The journey started from St. Petersburg. A very impressive city with lots to see in the city and also we were taken to Pushkinovo and Imperial palaces and also Peterhof. All our group liked the palaces very much. I didn't believe they were so breathtaking. Accomodation was on a ship, far from the city center, but no problem as city buses take you to the end of Nevski prospect or to the metro station. Bus and metro tickets are very cheap. The cruise strated in the evening of the fourth day and cruise took us 5 days. We thought it could be boring, but the activities on board were numerous and the time was flying very fast.

We did this trip in 2015 from Beijing to Moscow. We booked the tour through East West Tour and I can't say enough positive things about the service we received from them. The trip runs from Beijing to Moscow and is operated by Golden Eagle Luxury Trains Limited. We liked about this trip: The pre-tour information and organization of all the details before we took a flight to Beijing. The possibility to experience so many countries, a number of exotic cities and the places around them. We got a better idea of their culture and history as well as the ordinary life. The day trips were well chosen and well organized with knowledgeable and friendly local guides.
